The Doctor Who Appreciation Society is holding a special event on Wednesday July 23rd to celebrate the unveiling of a plaque dedicated to Doctor Who‘s first producer, Verity Lambert.
The blue heritage plaque will be on display at Riverside Studios, where many early episodes of Doctor Who were recorded, until the venue closes for development in the autumn, when it will be placed into storage and then permanently mounted at the new Riverside media centre when completed.
The event will include a high definition screening of Mark Gatiss’ celebratory film An Adventure in Space and Time, which first aired last November to mark the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, followed by an interview with Waris Hussein, Lambert’s long-time colleague who directed the all-important opening story of the series.
Tickets are free, and details can be found here.
