Playing at Madame Tussauds, London

On their way to collect medals from the Queen at Buckingham Palace, various Marvel superheroes come under attack from a giant robot – created by guess who…

Not outstaying its welcome, this 4D spectacular includes some great London backgrounds, as Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine and the Hulk are among the various superheroes who have been enticed to the capital. Unsurprisingly, the majority of the nine minutes is taken up with a battle, with the audience really brought into the middle of it, as the auditorium becomes one of the staging posts for the fight.

The 4D element comes as a surprise initially (unless you’ve been to similar rides at Euro Disney such as Honey I Shrunk the Kids) and you start to worry whenever you see Wolverine unsheathe  his claws, or certain London landmarks hove into view, since it’s obvious what’s about to come your way.

Verdict: With some inventive use of “traditional” 3D as well, all it’s lacking is a Stan Lee cameo for a Marvel nostalgia tour to be complete. Recommended.  8/10
