Survivors come to terms with the aftermaths of events in the 1960s and present day.

As one would hope this far into the season, the pace continues to impress in the penultimate hour of the MonsterVerse TV spinoff.

Things went to pot in Kazakhstan when the rift exploded, with Shaw, Cate and May declared dead or MIA. Kentaro experiences survivor’s guilt and is astonished to see that his father is finally present, though ultimately guilty for his daughter’s status. But they aren’t really dead, rather stuck in the Titan’s realm. Luckily, Shaw has been in this realm before, finding his own way home.

Finally we get some answers about Shaw’s age, just why he was in the old folks’ home and why he was triggered by the events in Honolulu. But just when you thought this episode couldn’t get any more intriguing, it blindsides you with a killer ending.

Verdict: All the threads pull together, answers are given and we’re all ready for the finale. 9/10
