When the five scripts for the start of Doctor Who’s Series 8 leaked onto the internet earlier this week, it was understood that the actual episodes themselves had not been taken. Unfortunately, that has proved not to be the case.
Cropped, black and white, unfinished copies of Deep Breath (and possibly the second episode as well) have begun to circulate on the internet.
Commenting on the latest revelations, a BBC Worldwide spokesperson told RadioTimes.com: “This is part of BBC Worldwide’s ongoing security investigation into leaked unfinished Doctor Who materials. This content is currently being removed and originates from the same Miami server disabled last week, it is not a new issue. We’d like to thank the amazing Doctor Who fans who are continuing to keep fansites and social media spoiler-free.”
Steven Moffat was asked about the leaked scripts at the London Film and Comic-Con on July 12, and said that it was “horrible, miserable and upsetting for the Doctor Who team”.
Why on Earth do people do this not only does it take away from the hard work of the cast and crew, it is also in no way representative of the broadcast version!
