An extended trailer for HBO and Sky Atlantic’s new version of Michael Crichton’s Westworld has been released – and it’s marked as unsuitable for those under 16.
The series which stars Anthony Hopkins as the park’s founder and creative director Dr Robert Ford, is an examination of man’s primal nature, the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set in a futuristic theme park, guests can explore a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged.
Alongside Hopkins the series stars Ed Harris (Pollack, Apollo 13) as The Man in Black, Thandie Newton (Mission: Impossible II) as razor-sharp madam Maeve Millay, Evan Rachel Wood (Thirteen, Mildred Pierce) as Dolores Abernathy a beautiful provincial rancher’s daughter, who begins to discover that her entire idyllic existence is an elaborately constructed lie and sharp shooting new arrival to the frontier town Teddy Flood played by James Marsden (X-Men).
Westworld opens for business in October.
