This will be a good one for fans who had high regards as I did for Doctor Who stories had much more seriousness, as classic Season 7 did and most especially with The Silurians.
One of my favourite Pertwee seasons, those era UNIT stories were great!
Especially the first multiverse story in Doctor Who which was Inferno. Nicholas Courtney’s acting as his darker self in a parallel universe was excellent. And the original Doctor/Master chemistry between Jon Pertwee and Roger Delgado will always be the best.
Inferno was a brilliant story, and still one of my all time favourites. The whole parallel universe concept was do well done. Season 7 was a real gem of creativity and change for Dr Who, the industrial look of the shows settings were also visually dramatic.
The scene with the Auton mannequins coming to life and causing mayhem in the streets is still quite timeless.
Yep, that’s a classic scene indeed. So iconic now as well. It still surprises me that they’ve never done a proper scary Auton story in the modern series by now.
BBV’s AUTON trilogy was pretty impressive at the time. So was an Auton spinoff story in one of my Doctor Who comics when I was a kid. The modern series may be mixed when it comes to the best ways to reintroduced familiar monsters. Even the Daleks and the Cybermen. So I always appreciate how their original impacts can get refreshed recognition in all of these new DVD and Blu-Ray editions for the classic series.
