Actor Tony Selby has died, aged 83.

His agents confirmed the news on Twitter earlier on today. Selby was best known to genre fans for his appearances as Sabalom Glitz alongside Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy’s Doctors in late 80s Doctor Who and for older fans as Sam in Ace of Wands in the early 70s and Sgt. Jones in Catweazle. He also appeared in the 1968 Witchfinder General, an episode of The Avengers, Superman: The Movie and Cockneys vs Zombies.
