The First – the story of mankind’s first manned mission to Mars – has fallen at the first hurdle, after Hulu declined to pick the show up for a second year.

The series, co-produced with Channel 4, starred Sean Penn and Natasha McElhone, but never really took off with audiences either side of the Atlantic.
