It seems likely that Doctor Who is returning to its “traditional” post-Easter slot for Steven Moffat’s final season.
Speaking to fans during filming, Peter Capaldi noted that the show was back for Christmas, and then in April. Easter weekend is 15/16 April, and many series started transmission then.
No transmission date has yet been confirmed for the BBC Three spin-off Class, created and written by Patrick Ness, although BBC Books has announced that they will be releasing three novels based on the show on October 27: Joyride by Guy Adams, The Stone House by A.K. Benedict and What She Does Next Will Astound You by James Goss.
BBC Books Senior Editorial Director Albert DePetrillo noted“ Patrick Ness is simply one of the finest writers working today – in any genre – and his new television series has all the hallmarks of his dazzling fiction. Class is a hugely exciting new brand for the BBC list, and we’re delighted to be working with Patrick and the production team at BBC Wales on these official tie-ins.”
