revivalJosh Boone, who is lined up to direct the new version of Stephen King’s epic novel The Stand, is looking to bring King’s recent novel Revival to the screen first.

The 2014 novel, which Boone describes as “the scariest thing [King’s] written since Pet Sematary“, is about a charismatic preacher who loses his faith when his wife and child are killed in a tragic accident, and then discovers he is able to do highly unusual things with electriicty. Boone wrote a spec adaptation of the book working with producer Michael De Luca and King himself. According to the report at Deadline (which features an interview with Boone about his experiences working with King), the project is currently being looked at by Universal.
