Speaking exclusively to Sci-Fi Bulletin, Primeval co-creator Adrian Hodges has confirmed information that has been spreading around the internet in the last couple of days regarding the future of the British incarnation of Primeval.
“There are no plans for a series 6 as things stand,” Hodges said today. “The only way I can see that changing is if Series 5 scores bigger than expected ratings when it transmits [which is reported now to be June or July]. I would never say never but at this point we probably have to accept we’ve come to the end of the British series. But the good news is that the film is now out looking for directors and is, in my opinion, in very good shape; and the Canadian series appears to be going ahead.”
It was recently announced that UKTV and Pro Sieben have picked up the rights to the new Primeval series.

I’m really sad. I just got into the show last year and I loved the direction they went in with the last two series. I’m hoping that the Canadian spin-off can possibly bring over characters from the British show.
A great shame that it looks to be the end of primeval. It really was head and shoulders above all of the competition. Much better than new who.
Oh well….. maybe the Canadian series will be good.
It was just getting good, last two series have been the best, and the next series spoilers at the end of series 5 looked amazing
Shame that this will not be returning…I so badly wanted to know about the other Matt. Here hoping that series 5 will have good ratings when it comes to ITV because I really need answers. I love this show.
this is terrable it has to come out it left us on a clifhanger and if it does come out abbey and connor have to be in it otherwise i wont whatch it !!!
Remember that the story continued in Primeval New World – we know what happened to Abby and Connor (or at least part of it)
