Red or green? Make a choice.

Anyone who wants power – or who will blackmail or fight to take it – should not have it. The consequences of Nora’s power-play are all too soon revealed as things spiral out of control for her and for President Brown. Oh, and the last man on earth tries a spot of mansplaining… spoiler alert: the women are not impressed.

That’s almost the extent of the light relief – yes, you read that right – for this episode. The tough choices the president has made come back to bite her hard this week as it seems we’re set up for a bitter power struggle between Jennifer Brown and Regina Oliver. The lies and machinations come to a head as Regina leads a coup against Jennifer – but that isn’t their biggest problem as further betrayals and shocks will knock the air from your lungs as you watch. The eternal struggle between chaos and order is portrayed in a powerful set of scenes.

Again the lines between right and wrong are blurred as the moral justifications the characters give for their actions are full of shades of grey. Selfishness, judgement and horror pepper this episode with intense drama.

Verdict: The stakes are raised even higher and continue to surprise and shock. 9/10
