The vampires attend their first human Super Bowl party, while Guillermo’s search for virgins uncovers a deadly threat.
While there’s still plenty of fun to be derived from our hapless vampires incorrectly thinking that their neighbour’s football party is a celebration of owls, you can’t help think that this one-joke premise is slightly stretched, even over the slender 25 minute runtime.
What keeps this episode on track is the sub-plot with Guillermo (Harvey Guillen) doing his best to track down virgins for his masters. An obvious place to start is the internet and he locates a group of mosquito collectors – surely they have to be virgins? – only to discover that they are vampire hunters!
The pleasure is, as always, in the detail rather than the grand gestures, and favourite moment is probably the tedious Colin Robinson boring people to death about the motion smoothing functionality on their TV!
Verdict: Even with regular episodes like this, the half hour flies by courtesy of a great ensemble cast. Fun nonsense all round. 7/10
