Minogue and O’Leary head for the ocean when ten anglers, including the prime minister’s fiancé, disappear from around Wellington Harbour in mysterious circumstances.

While most of the force are investigating a missing Mazda, O’Leary, Minogue and Maaka hit the ocean to find out what’s been attacking locals. As usual, they miss the clues that are right under their own noses (a giant footprint for starters) and get conflicting reports of what happened – from the same person.

Constable Parker joins them this week to monitor seismic activity from the shore, and he’s even more hapless than our regular duo We meet Captain Quinn, skipper of the boat that takes them away from the safety of dry land. With eyepatch and hook, this salty sea dog promises that he has great stories to tell… about a dolphin and piece of faecal matter!

Verdict: The paranormal parody plumbs new depths with its take on monsters from the deep. With sparkling one-liners and impressive monsters, it’s another winner. 9/10
