Over the course of a single night, Officers Minogue and O’Leary encounter a series of incidents.

Our Kiwi cops have a particularly busy night shift that begins with the sighting of a suspicious plastic bag outside the chip shop and then escalates to cape-wearing Satanists, sixteen creepy clowns inside a single car, and the theft of blood bags from the hospital. Some of these events are linked by Nick, a blood bank officer (actually a vampire), played by Cori Gonzalez-Macuer, who reprises his role from the original 2014 What We Do in the Shadows movie.

There’s so much going on, with the common theme being the cops’ ineptitude. Nick discovers that he has been able to successfully glamour (hypnotise) people for the first time in his life, no great surprise considering how weak-minded Minogue and O’Leary are. When asked whether they’ve had their minds wiped: ‘No, I’d definitely remember that.’

Verdict: Your weekly dose of monster comedy just keeps the gags coming – an endless supply of fun. 9/10
