A young woman arrives at a stranger’s home for an odd job and suspects that he might be a serial killer and a financial advisor at a high-profile investment firm is stalked by a terrifying stranger who looks just like him.

In the first of this week’s horror vignettes, Anika (a nervy Sunita Prasad) takes on some painting work for a Patrick Bateman-like client (Tyler Johnston), her overactive imagination warning her that he’s actually a serial killer. The spirit of a previous victim talks to her, telling her to act on intuition, but is she imagining all of this? What follows is a creepy, exciting 20 minutes where you flip between believing Anika and fearing that she’s losing her grip on reality.

In Imposter, Charles (Lou Ticson) wants to get on in his corporate workplace, but to do so he will need to abandon his Asian heritage, and have to accept racism within the workplace. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, and his mother laments the loss of his identity. At an awards ceremony he has to confront his doppelgänger, dressed in traditional garb, and decide which version of himself deserves to live. The racism is awful to witness, and the price that one must pay for success looks all too familiar; the ending might not be as you’d expect.

Another double-bill of exciting high concept horror shorts from the show that crams in a lot of gore and suspense in each 20-minute segment.  7/10
