A shapeshifting demon hunts the vulnerable children of a housing project, but he doesn’t count on the bravery of his latest victims.

The best episode yet of this season of the anthology show, taking the familiar trope of the urban legend monster (think Candyman) and creating a wonderful half hour of drama. The Homberg-wearing monster (John Speredakos while in male form) has the perfect cover; the locals all think that the kids are little monsters, reporting them to the police for the smallest misdemeanours, making it very easy to snatch away a child.

The demon becomes a witch in its own equivalent gingerbread house (a single occupancy clapboard house away from the tenements) and poor Marcus is tied up, watching the creature prepare to cook him. Luckily his friends create a diversion and he escapes, but the demon is soon on their tail.

Verdict: A child-centred fantasy tale that has none of the nostalgia or small town trappings of Stranger Things or IT, it’s a gripping addition to an impressive run of tales. Oh, and never underestimate the power of a unicorn rucksack when confronted by evil! 9/10
