Dick goes rogue to bring down Deathstroke. But he doesn’t go alone. Meanwhile, Conner’s condition deteriorates and a series of practical jokes put the Titans at each other’s throats.

WOW this is fun! Iain Glen steals the show, buys the block, knocks it down and has a massive statue of his Bruce Wayne erected in its place. As Dick’s guilt, and subconscious, he’s having a whale of a time every second he’s on screen. Kudos to the cast for not reacting and massive respect to Glen for doing such a good job. Whether it’s dancing with showgirls or cheerily asking Dick just what he’s going to do next, he is so much fun. Brenton Thwaites too is excellent as Dick, a man so desperate to not be his mentor he becomes his mentor.

Elsewhere there’s a lot more sunshine in the tower, literally. The arrival of Doctor Eve Watson and Kory neatly contextualizes Conner’s plot and continues the show’s slow, persistent move towards overt science fiction, Plus, Eve escapes Cadmus by flying dog.

She escapes Cadmus.

BY FLYING DOG.

Meanwhile Jason can’t help thinking about the fall and Rose, suspiciously absent for the practical jokes, comforts him…That will definitely payoff later I suspect. As will Kory and Rachel using their powers to heal Conner. That gives Rachel her first positive experience of her powers, possibly ever, and Kory a chance to do something positive and hands on. Plus it’s a note of hope which the show desperately needs.

Verdict: Blackly funny, flat out paced and massive fun this is one of the best episodes of Titans to date. 10/10
