The Terminal Islanders return home to find that things have changed since they left. The Nakayamas, still tense from the pain they’ve inflicted on one another, must come together to battle the spirit that threatens their future.

The gates are opened at the Oregon Repatriation Center, its ‘guests’ being repatriated by order of the Supreme Court. First out is understandably Amy who having killed Major Bowen is going to put as many miles between her and the camp before the body is discovered. But any joy at getting away is soon tempered by the barren land that awaits them at Terminal Island, where the homes once stood.

The episode only truly kicks into gear when the Nakamaras regroup to protect Luz as she goes into labour. Devil woman Yuko wants to claim another child as part of her elaborate revenge, and she jumps between people – her possession signified by a crick of the neck. When a surgeon is taken over, the family retreat to a secluded military installation – surely they’ll be safe there?

Verdict: Slowly recovering after two pedestrian episodes, The Terror: Infamy sets things up for the final confrontation. Apart from some startling revelations by Asako (Naoko Mori), things play out as expected – let’s hope there’s a final flourish or sting to finish on a high. 7/10
