The Nakayamas have been torn apart, and Chester searches for the person he believes can help, even if it means taking drastic action.

It would be hard to top last week’s episode on any level, and so wisely this instalment allows time for reflection and relative calm, while maintaining the same underlying tension. The camp residents are now also battling a disease – tuberculosis – and Chester realises that he has nothing to lose by leaving.

Chester tried to walk out of the camp, all too aware that the guards will apprehend him and transfer him to a more secure facility. This gives him the opportunity to escape in transit – he is a far more confident person following his time in combat and having endured personal losses – the subject of his quest being to see Luz, the grieving mother of their deceased twins.

It’s giving nothing away to share that Chester and Luz do connect, their unbearable loss being the bind holding them together. But just in case you thought that things were settling down, demonic Yuko is back again, possessing both the Major and Luz’ father. We might know her story, but it’s far from over.

Verdict: An understandably calmer hour after the significant revelations of Episode 6, it might feel a little low key at this stage of the season, and with three hours to go, it’s about time that Chester started fighting back. 7/10
