A team of astronauts are sent to retrieve a mysterious sample from an abandoned lunar research station.

The tag line for this series ought to read ‘A team of astronauts who have never seen a science fiction film are sent to an abandoned research station…’ but then I guess if they had, that would be like sending every aspiring teen slasher victim to ‘horror school’ before they ventured down into the cellar. Where would be the fun in that?

Luckily no one’s told the brilliant and always charismatic Gong Woo (Squid Game, Train To Busan) and his team, that getting up close and personal with mysterious corpses on a deserted lunar base is rarely a good idea. But who – or what – killed them? Can all of the hastily assembled team be trusted? And will the same thing that killed their predecessors start to knock them out one by one… by any chance?

Verdict: It’s cheesy, it’s predictable, the effects are definitely of the Space 1999 variety, but this reviewer found the first two episodes hugely enjoyable, and perhaps, with a backstory predicated on a global drought threatening life on Earth the series may go somewhere a little more profound than the season openers suggest.  Either way, it’s a perfectly enjoyable ride so far. 7/10
