Survivors come out of hiding.
The Mandalorian’s third season finally takes off, but I can’t help thinking that we should have been in this place at least two or three episodes ago.
More so than in its previous seasons, The Mandalorian has felt distracted this year by side quests, meaning that while we’re right in the thick of battle now, there’s only one more episode left. Of course, we shouldn’t be looking at the season finale as being a hard stop because characters are already being set up for the next series in this timeline, Ahsoka.
This is an action-packed 45 minutes, pulling together some of the threads from earlier in the year, but crucially giving us our villain. The survivors of the ruins of Mandalore learn to fight against a common enemy and Grogu even gets a new means of travel. It’s fun all the way, and a reminder of how good this show can be.
Verdict: The best episode this season, as finally we get the goods we deserve. 9/10
