Confrontation and resolution, as all parties converge on Brendok.
Star Wars: The Acolyte concludes its first season in the manner in which it has conducted itself across its eight episodes – up, down and messy.
Allegiances change, motivations are muddy, actions are incomprehensible – it’s all over the place. And I guess that the only positive of a show that is so lacking in internal logic means that you can never guess what’s happening next. And the choices they make are questionable and dumb.
Sisters Osha and Mae (though they aren’t really sisters) are now practically interchangeable and we’re assisted here by one being dressed in black and the other in white. Questions are asked, but not necessarily the right ones, and bad answers are given. And the Jedi? They continue to be shown as the villains here. Was this show written by Palpatine’s propaganda film team?
Remember the ending of Solo where things were set up, teasing a better movie than the one you just watched? It’s the same again here, with some suggestions of where it might go, but frankly I couldn’t care less.
Verdict: For me, the weakest Star Wars live-action show to date. A missed opportunity. Messed this up did they. 3/10
