A bitter truth is revealed.

After last week’s focus on the twins’ separate adventures we flashback to Brendok, 16 years earlier. This is also what happened in episode 3 – Destiny – but this time there’s a bigger picture being painted.

The Jedi team have been on a mission to report on a vergence – a concentration of Force energy – and after seven long weeks nothing is happening. Sol then spots the twins and follows them to a coven of Night Sisters and we start to cover the same ground as episode 3. But crucially, we this time see what happened during the Ascension ceremony.

Based on what we’d seen, we made assumptions about what happened to Mother Aniseya and how the witches perished. Those assumptions were wrong, and while this provides an interesting switch, I’m not convinced it justifies why we were fed a false narrative before. Maybe it’s just to hammer home the fact that sometimes the Jedi will lie to cover their backs?

Verdict: With one episode left, there’s everything to play for. This show has never been less than entertaining, but it really is all over the place. 7/10
