A rare opportunity opens and the time for Cassian and his fellow inmates to act is now.
After a colleague has died from exhaustion on penal colony Narkina 5, a doctor explains that there’s no way they’re getting out alive. And so begins the revolt of 5,000 men who have absolutely nothing left to lose. Led by Cassian Andor and Kino Loy (Andy Serkis) the prison escape is another blow for the Empire, which was relying on the prisoners’ output to fuel its war efforts.
Mon Mothma struggles to accept the morality of taking funding from a gangster, specifically because she doesn’t want to be in his debt. This could be a bad move on her part. And Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen delivers a heartfelt speech about the sacrifice people have made, while revealing the Rebellion cuts deeper than many would expect.
Verdict: Action, espionage and politics – Andor is firing on all cylinders as it moves towards this season’s final episodes. 8/10
