When the crew attempts to secure transport to the Federation, they unwittingly cross paths with the Vice Admiral who is hunting them.

Where previous episodes of the animated show have focused on introducing viewers to key concepts of the Star Trek universe, while keeping ongoing plot threads in the background, this half hour, written by Lisa Schultz Boyd, is all about those threads.

Vice-Admiral Janeway has tracked down Barniss Frex, and the Diviner (John Noble) remembers his daughter’s name is Gwyn, and she discovers that he is alive.

The crew of the Protostar have safely stowed the WMD while they hitch a ride to meet Starfleet, but things don’t go to plan and Janeway has to decide whether she’s prepared to risk war by entering the Neutral Zone.

And isn’t that Thadiun Okona (Billy Campbell) TNG’s Season 2  story The Outrageous Okona?

Verdict: With jeopardy on multiple fronts and a number of legacy Star Trek races coming in to play, it’s 4 for 4 in this consistently good new run of the show. 8/10
