On Trill, Captain Burnham, Book, and Culber must pass a dangerous test to prove themselves worthy of the next clue.
As the crew start their quest to track down the various pieces of the map, they set their sights on Trill. Matching up the clue with the facial design of an ancient Trill, they plan to find the current host and access their memories. Along the way, they have to jump through various hoops like answering a riddle and completing a test.
Elsewhere, new Number One, Rayner, is being obnoxious and Tilly is having none of it, Saru and T’Rina have a relationship stumble around announcing their engagement. And Grey and Adira need to make some tough decisions about their long-distance relationship.
Verdict: Very much an episode of parts, it doesn’t feel very exciting, and the energy from the opener is waning week on week. 5/10
