Georgiou uncovers the true depths of the plot against her, leading her to a revelation about how deeply her time on the Discovery truly changed her.

If Part 1 of this Mirror Universe drama was all about the broad gestures and Shakespearean double-crossing, this concluding part allows smaller moments for Michael and Georgiou, the latter getting to show sides to her character that we’ve never seen in this show.

While the Mirror Universe is a fun diversion, its histrionics can be too much if dispensed in large measures. It says something when Georgiou is the calmest, most reasonable character in the room, and she uses her time well to put events back on a better path, to address and make peace with previous wrongs.

By the end, there’s still more bodies on the floor than in your average Jacobean tragedy, but Georgiou has made a significant mark before returning through the portal. And I think I’ll say no more on what happens next, suffice to say I called it when watching the first part.

Verdict: Michelle Yeoh proves again what a fantastic performance her Georgiou is. As various crew members list off her many character traits, it’s a reminder of what fun can be had playing a badass. 8/10
