The UK premiere of Amazon Prime’s new Star Trek: Picard series on 15 January 2020 enjoyed the sort of glamour and attention usually afforded a Hollywood movie. But as those patrons who had already enjoyed the transformation of Piccadilly Circus tube station into Picardilly Circus would attest, no expense was spared in the launch of the 10-part serial, which brings back Patrick Stewart to the role of Jean-Luc Picard, 18 years after Star Trek: NemesisSFB’s Nick Joy was on the red carpet with cameraman Andy Smith, interviewing the guests on their way in to the iconic 1930s Leicester Square Odeon. Isa Briones (Dahj), Michelle Hurd (Raffi), Harry Treadaway (Narek), Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine), Evan Evagora (Elnor), Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh) and Michael Chabon (Executive Producer) stopped to share their experiences of the hotly-anticipated new show.
Even Jason Isaacs from Star Trek: Discovery (and as far as we known is not in Picard) joined the party… but no-one was complaining.
