A heavily hyped entrepreneur offers to let Space Force use her revolutionary rocket fuel. Dr Chan gives Captain Ali a crash course in botany.

It doesn’t take much of a stretch of the imagination to recognise Edison Jaymes (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Kaitlin Olson) as a thinly-veiled Elon Musk, but yet again the character being satirised here is less ridiculous than their real-world counterpart. Unfortunately, the goodwill gesture of sharing the ‘skinny fuel’ with Space Force dents Naird’s fragile ego, and he’s soon reverting to obnoxious type, so we get shouty Steve Carell again.

Talking of obnoxious, PR guy Scarapiducci faces an old rival who’s even more repellent and slimy then he is (no small achievement) and is able to cut through some of her BS at just the right time. Of greater interest this week is Erin’s developing romance with base security guard Duncan Tabner, with Diana Silvers really growing into this awkward character who serves hot food from the ‘Meal Armstrong’ kiosk and has General Naird as a father. Oh, and there’s a lightness of touch to the new relationship between Chan and Ali – let’s see where that goes.

Verdict: Another high concept episode with an appealing guest star, but most of this is pretty broad, and the best moments come from the sub-plots. 7/10
