Michaela and Ben join forces to try to help a Flight 828 passenger who Ben’s Calling suggests may tip the balance of the ‘Lifeboat’ shared by all of them. Saanvi struggles with the realities of her responsibilities at Eureka. Angelina’s bond with Grace deepens.
Having reached the conclusion following events with the Meth Heads that all the passengers are on a ‘lifeboat’ and one of them doing bad will impact the fate of all of them, Ben becomes frantically worried at a Calling which suggests multiple passengers may be in danger. One in particular catches his attention and with Michaela’s help he starts to investigate. On the surface, it’s a simple case of a woman spurned who can’t let go, but as they dig deeper, it gets an awful lot more complex.
At Eureka, Saanvi slowly begins to piece together the (fairly obvious to the audience) true nature of the artefact brought to the lab, and the implications that has. As someone still very close to Ben, Saanvi feels a duty to share the magnitude of this revelation with him and the others, but is faced with the hard reality of her new position and what she must do to maintain it.
In the Stone household, Angelina continues to bond ever more closely with baby Grace, and this is starting to turn into a slightly creepy element of the storyline. After her nearly leaving the family altogether last week because she felt like such a burden who brought pain and suffering to all, she’s flipped into something very different. As she gets closer to Grace, she seems to be almost inserting herself into the family, perhaps even with ideas of replacing someone entirely – it’s going to be fun watching this one play out.
And at the precinct, Jared catches some good-natured ribbing when his continued association/relationship with Sarah Fitz is outed. There’s a feeling that perhaps Michaela’s concerns about it aren’t entirely rooted in exactly who Sarah is, one that’s only exacerbated by a certain flash Zeke seems to have from his new empathic powers.
Verdict: The ‘A’ plot throw s in plenty of twists and surprises and the others keep things moving nicely. After a slow start, this is shaping up to be another decent season. 8/10
