M.O.D.O.K. decides on a change of course to try to get his life back on track, making himself a model employee for AIM which immediately stokes Monica’s paranoia.
After last week’s resolution of the whole past M.O.D.O.K. plot, this week sees a return to focusing on M.O.D.O.K.’s main issue – the fact his company has been taken from him. This is very much a M.O.D.O.K.-centric episode, with his family not playing any part.
Having gone to old ‘friend’ Melter’s graveside for some inspiration, M.O.D.O.K. elects to become the model employee at AIM in order to try to get his professional life back on track. This of course causes major confusion for Monica and the long-suffering Gary, the former of which is convinced that this is M.O.D.O.K.’s latest plot against her and the latter that Austin is responsible for his boss’ complete transformation and electing to kill him as revenge.
But when M.O.D.O.K. sees an opportunity to make himself useful beyond his mailman duties, things just escalate further, especially when the plan of Austin’s masters the Hexus are revealed to include killing all dogs, including his own. Now hellbent on delaying their plans, Austin finds himself suddenly unable to derail his usually most reliably uncooperative employee.
So there’s gore, laughs, some interesting revelations about Gary and a particularly inventive case of genetic blending. All in all, business as usual, and as per, the show manages to be both big AND clever as it swears and splats its way through it all.
Verdict: Funny and packing a few genuine twists. 8/10
