More things in heaven and earth.
The heat is turned up on that recipe that was simmering nicely as we unpack more complex sides of our main players, with the Harris family at ground zero of the bombshells that are dropped.
Things seem to go from bad to worse for those on the BC side of the time crack. With ‘hangriness’ clawing at the frayed nerve-endings of our time… fallers… it’s surprising that it’s taken them this long to come to the realisation that hunting will be necessary for their survival. Good job we have a former ranch-hand available in Eve, adept at such skills, although I’m not sure we needed the heavy-handed reminder of traditional gender stereotypes. Why wouldn’t a girl raised on a ranch have learned those skills? I was fine with that before being told that her “Dad wanted a boy”.
That being said, Eve and Ty don’t have much luck where hunting’s actually concerned, with a strange middle-act throwing together of characters who now share a secret that could change everything for the group. Yikes. I have questions, but I’ll hold them for now.
Poor Gavin has a whole heap of salt poured into the wound of his loss from an unexpected source, and a decision is made that he may regret in more ways than one as the nail-biting climax of the episode brings us a last-second twist.
Verdict: Don’t ask questions that you don’t want the answer to, Gavin. 7/10
