OK, I’m glad to say the show is back on track with this episode – and with a few sentences from Ben that fills in his backstory, you can skip episode 5 completely, just wondering how on earth he really did survive. There’s a lot of action for one group of teenagers – including the motorcycle and sidecar chase that features on the season poster – and not shying away from the harsh realities of life. (Unless they retcon the last five minutes, which would be a shame.)
Meanwhile Darius tries his best to outwit Tiff and Mitch, with the female of the species definitely turning out to be the less well-inclined towards the three campers they still have under their control. Yaz manages to get away, and it seems as if things are heading towards the end game…
Some very good action sequences are the highlight of the episode, and it’s good to see that not every cliché has to be followed.
Verdict: Back on form, with an enjoyable instalment. 8/10
