The teenagers spot a campfire – and meet their potential saviours. But Brooklynn is suspicious…
We’ve about reached the point where we need the campers to have interaction with somebody else – as, indeed, have they themselves, knowing each other’s touchstone lines all too well. But are Mitch and Tiff too good to be true? Mitch seems to share Darius’ love of dinosaurs, while Tiff is providing the care and nurture that the teenagers have missed – a good reminder that, for all their bravado, these are still kids at heart. But their guide – who looks far more like a bodyguard – makes Brooklynn suspicious.
There’s a bit of a game of cat and mouse this time around, as the teenagers vent their suspicions, fall out, and eventually get separated, with Kenji and Brooklynn eventually learning the truth the hard way… and then having the surprise of their lives at the end of the episodes.
We get to share the youngsters’ relief and can understand their mistrust of anyone threatening to spoil what looks like their dreams come true – but we know from earlier iterations of the franchise what sort of people are attracted to Isla Nubar…
Verdict: Help isn’t always what it seems for the campers – can they catch a break? 8/10
