Kenny and Ellis make a grisly discovery out in the forest…
The lack of answers being provided by this show is so chronic even the characters are debating it. They’re more sanguine than I am – which is saying something since they’re the ones suffering while I’m just watching.
Episode 3 takes us no further forward but does restore some sense of rhythm to the lives of the characters in the show with all the surviving original cast back in town and dealing with the mess the arrival of the newcomers has created.
I did enjoy this episode – there was some excellent body horror on show and the characters were given space and good writing to deal with its consequences.
Yet what it all might mean remains as opaque to them as it does to us.
As a result there’s not a lot more to say – we still have people trying to survive, we still have no answers and we still have a show which doesn’t quite get to deliver horror that chills the bones or create that sense of creeping dread that leaves a viewer squirming in their seat.
Rating? 7 out of 10.
