The citizens of Mawinhaken realize that the dead are truly rising from their graves.
It feels like faint praise, but Day of the Dead has already settled into a predictable formula by its fourth episode, but when it’s such an easy, fun experience, no one is complaining. The zombie illness has now manifest itself on multiple fronts across the town, and the chief of police wants to bring in the state troopers. But will they believe such a tall tale of zombies in the woods?
The episode unfolds on multiple fronts, taking characters in to wider locales rather than just the funeral home and old people’s home. Jai arrives (late) at his own wedding and is unable to convince his fiancée and best man as to what’s happening. They think it’s the worst ever excuse to get out of marriage, only discovering too late that the dead are wedding crashers. Shady experiments in the lab have also produced results – this virus is the cure to death!
Verdict: Fun, gory antics where everyone does dumb things, leaving us to sit back and enjoy the carnage. 7/10
