Jai, Cam, and Lauren take a stand to save the retirement home from the dead and Mayor Bowman tracks down the zombified protestor.

In the first two episodes of this comedy horror based on Romero’s movies, the zombie infection was still contained to one or two locations. By the end of this hour, the walking dead are out on the street, and things are getting tasty.

Paula, Trey and Nicole are trying to smuggle the corpse of the protestor out of the Grey Mile retirement home, except that he’s no longer dead. Paula is in her element, seeing this as a PR opportunity to keep her office, but her husband Trey is not the sharpest tool in the drawer, and Nicole pays the price.

Rhodes is hunting down Blackwood at the fracking site and Dr Logan researches the bitten finger, while the partygoers recover their keg of beer from the river. But the best scenes involve Jai, Lauren and Cam as they address a zombie bite before it spreads. Paula Shaw is great as wisecracking old lady Mrs French, and we realise that no one is safe as the zombie virus takes hold.

Verdict: ‘You can kiss my saggy ass!’ Some great action scenes and a continual sense of humour drive this show, which has become a real guilty pleasure. 8/10
