Charles and company try to enlist men in town to fight in Jerusalem’s Lot and retake the book.

Those expecting an action-packed episode of humans taking on vampires probably haven’t been watching this series very closely. It should come as no surprise that we get another series of tension-building turns of the screw, with everything to play for in the final episode.

Vampire leader Jakub is now in possession of the magical book (Mystery of the Worm) and has retreated with his followers to Jerusalem’s Lot, where he prepares to unleash its power. Charles, somewhat wisely, doesn’t immediately follow the nosferatu to their nest, and instead goes to town to drum up a posse. There’s still disbelief about what he’s saying until Mary is sacrificed in daylight as a demonstration of the evil.

Charles asks those who are willing to join him on a likely suicide mission to meet at the tavern in an hour. But before then, a woman scorned has her revenge and suicide is seen as the best way out for another. As the vampires release the book’s magic, the final confrontation beckons.

Verdict: Both sides arm themselves for a showdown as this chilling Stephen King story adaptation prepares for its final hour. There will be casualties. There will be blood. 8/10
