In her quest for revenge, Elle breaks into the home of her next target and is forced to take a hostage.

The animated Blade Runner spinoff hits its stride with an action-packed episode that pulls all interested parties together. Elle confronts Chief Grant’s wife Josephine in their penthouse, holding a sword to her throat. The question here is whether the replicant’s memories are real or implanted constructs. And then all hell let’s loose when Grant, Blade Runner Marlowe and Officer Davis arrive, planning to ‘retire’ or arrest her.

The show reaches an interesting point here, because we’re asked to question the morality of the characters’ actions. We’re asked to sympathise with synthetic Elle because she was the prey of a ‘doll hunt’, but she’s taking out her revenge by killing humans. Do we side with Marlowe the Blade Runner, who’s essentially no different to Deckard, or Davis, who’s just trying to do the right thing. Elle is a victim, but she’s out of control.

Verdict: Moral quandaries and non-stop action in the strongest episode to date. 8/10
