Elle begins to remember fragments of her past and we meet Officer Alani Davis of the LAPD.

This second episode picks up immediately from the ending of episode one, suggesting that it will work well as a single story, conveniently sliced up for transmission. J is awoken by bottle of booze being poured over his head, and tasked with helping Elle to decrypt the files in her mysterious device. While he’s working ikon it, Elle watches a TV news report with Senator Bannister and this unlocks a memory. She steals a Tuk-Tuk and follies him to a club where an inconvenient truth is discovered.

Elsewhere, we meet Officer Alani Davis of the LAPD, who is questioning someone before they make a break for it. She demonstrates that she’s no pushover and it will be interesting to see what sort of relationship she develops with Elle. The plot is pacy, and there’s some revelations that are probably bigger surprises to the characters than the viewers at home.

Verdict: Elle’s back story gets a significant boost and we meet another female lead in this exciting side-story in the Blade Runner universe. 7/10
