Shadow seeks Bilquis and is joined by an unlikely accomplice while Laura fights to return to the astral plane.

Having re-established the show in its first three episodes, the show shifts gear by increasing the participation of the secondary characters. It’s a series that has always had a large pool of characters to draw from, and by the end of the hour all the key players are back in play.

Laura’s enforced stay in purgatory thankfully gets some resolution, setting up her arc for the remainder of the year, and after last week’s Shadow-lite episode, our lead gets to buddy up with an adversary.

Verdict: Plenty going on, but hopefully this season isn’t going to stray too far from the ‘My Ainsel’ narrative and that we’ll soon be back eating pasties in Wisconsin again. 7/10
