London Piccadilly, 15-17 September 2023

A Batman immersive pop-up in central London, marking the annual, global Batman Day.

What did you do for Batman Day? Watch Adam West climb a wall, Michael Keating in a belfry, or read Arkham Asylum? Those lucky enough to snap up the tickets to the Batman Unmasked pop-up exhibition in London’s Piccadilly on 15-17 September could get up close with vehicles,  costumes and props Batman movies and enjoy sone great photo opportunities.

The Batpod from the Nolan films and the more conventional Bat bike from The Batman were joined by Batman’s costumes from Michael Keating, to Christian Bale, to Ben Affleck to Robert Pattinson. Grappling guns and utility belts sat alongside the all-important black eye makeup, Heath Ledger’s nurse’s and regular Joker costume and Joaquin Phoenix’s velvet Joker. Sadly, no George Clooney suit with moulded Bat nipples!

And could you resist standing on an illuminated Bat sign podium or recreate climbing a horizontal wall per the 1960s series? The exhibition was rounded off with a library of classic Batman comic books and a wall of cowls.

Verdict: It’s a fairly small exhibition, but it packs in plenty of Batman ephemera. 8/10
