Tribal Films, out now on DVD and Digital

Now you want logic?”

That line from Tara Reid’s April Shephard pretty much sums up the latest instalment in the increasingly insane Sharknado franchise, which has been getting bigger – and to its fans no doubt better – with each outing. What began as a mild curiosity on a cable channel has become a blockbuster-level apocalyptic terror that tries to evoke the spirit of films like It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World in its inanity.

As ever, writer Thunder Levin and director Anthony C. Ferrante throw in as many references to other films and series as they can along with multiple other elements that may or may not make sense (inclining to the latter), with the Sharknado Sisters, the Queen of England and a talisman that can control the sharknados all put into the mix. There’s a plot in there somewhere, but let’s be honest – if you’re going to watch this, it’s to see the sharks at work…

Verdict: What started off as a novel idea has really now been beaten into the ground. 3/10
