Driven by biological excess, a man and a woman search for sexual fulfilment, unaware of each other’s existence.

Frank (Basket Case, Frankenhooker) Henenlotter’s 2008 comedy horror marked his directorial return after a 17-year break, and it contains all the gooey monster mayhem that you’d expect from the director.

Jennifer (Charlee Danielson) is cursed by having a body that is never sexually satisfied, her encounters with men typically resulting in their death. In another part of town, Batz (Anthony Sneed) has a drug-enhanced appendage (sometimes detachable) that is so potent that it delivers 45-minute orgasms. Yes, it’s that sort of movie! And when the Jennifer and Batz finally get together, mayhem ensues.

Henenlotter fans will be used to his low-budget body horror antics, and if you’re prepared to accept the cheapo rubber effects and not put off by the constant nudity, there’s fun to be had, even if it doesn’t know when to stop.

Severin’s 4K release is scanned in from the original negative, and the picture absolutely pops, inevitably revealing the cheap effects to look as low rent as they really are. There are two commentaries, interviews with the creatives, actors Charlee Danielson and Nick Deeg, behind-the-scenes material, producer Anthony Sneed and his short film Suck.

Verdict: Henenlotter fans will love this OTT package of blood and boobs, while the uninitiated will probably wonder just what is going on here. 6/10
