The TARDIS’ view of the events at the end of The Waters of Mars
As with Dave Rudden’s tale, Canaries, this is a short story that ties in with the Time Lord Victorious strand – in this case, relating, from the TARDIS’ viewpoint, what happens as Adelaide Brooke walks into her house on Davies Street. It doesn’t shy away from the Doctor’s attitude, but explains how things are pulled together.
It’s not simply about Time Lord Victorious either – there’s commentary on the various incarnations (and at least one companion), and some lovely descriptions of the Doctors, the way the TARDIS sees them.
It’s a short read, but on a rainy autumn afternoon, it’s the promise of adventure… just like the theme tune always is; just like the sound of the TARDIS materialising…
Verdict: In some ways this is the start of the whole Time Lord Victorious strand. Vworp! 9/10
