Titan Comics, out now

The Doctor and her fam are in London in the 1960s, tracking the 10th Doctor and Martha Jones as they face down the Weeping Angels.

There’s not an awful lot that happens in the second issue of this 13th/10th Doctor crossover comic, not least being that the Time Lord(s) still haven’t met. This might continue to be case across the whole series (paradoxes avoided and all that timey-wimey stuff) but it does somewhat slow things down. If this was a graphic novel, you’d whizz through these pages to get to the action.

That’s not to say it isn’t an enjoyable read, the major sequences being the 13th Doctor spending time with Martha and the fam revealing themselves to Doctor Tennant. There’s a cracker of a cliffhanger which, considering the introductions are done, suggests we’re going to get some action in part 3. Jody Houser’s script continues to feel authentic to the TV versions of the character, and there’s a lovely style to Roberta Ingranata’s art, which perfectly captures the mannerisms of her cast.

Verdict: Not quite a filler, but the pace has dropped here after a thrilling opening issue, with the promise of some great monster action next time. 6/10
