Titan Comics, out now
The Tenth and Thirteenth Doctor and their friends join up with the Skithra to prevent the Earth from being taken over by the Sea Devils.
A bit of timey-wimey positioning merges the Doctors’ TARDISes, making for a crowded ensemble, plotting to go back to 1903 New York. Inevitably, some of the regulars get little to nothing to do (Graham and Ryan suffer most) but it’s fun to see the story looping back to the episode Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror.
Back in the timeline of the Series 12 episode, it’s not just Tesla who’s gone missing, but rival Edison too. By the end of the issue, it’s apparent that the Skithra Queen will need to make some temporal changes to get Earth back on track again.
Oh, and don’t assume that the Sea Devil-specific cover is a sign that the Eocenes are centre stage. They don’t actually make an appearance, presumably returning in the next, concluding issue.
Verdict: It’s disappointing that the Sea Devils don’t make an appearance, but there’s a full cast of favourite Doctors and companions to entertain us. I just hope the resolution isn’t going to be too easy a reset switch. 7/10
