Aided by the Dalek Prime Strategist, the Doctor is preparing for battle, when he encounters the deadly Hond.

Titan’s two-part opening salvo in the Time Lord Victorious sequence concludes with a pacy extra-length comic book adventure that for the most part is a two-hander between the Tenth Doctor and new character Dalek Prime Strategist.

Writer Jody Houser, who pens the ongoing 13th Doctor series, shows a good understanding of 10’s character and regular artist Roberta Ingranata has fun with his trademark quiff and long brown coat.

The Doctor is stuck between two genocidal races, Dalek and the Hond, each wishing to wipe out the other, and our Time Lord brokers a resolution that feels true to his morals, while ensuring that neither side truly benefits from his actions.

Verdict: A fun, self-contained entry in the Time Lord Victorious strand. Not the large scale Dalek war you might have expected, but a significant aside in the bigger narrative. 8/10
