Titan Comics, out now

The Weeping Angels are trying to break in to the TARDIS, Autons are ready to attack the streets of 60s London, and Doctors 10 and 13 are desperately trying to avoid a paradox.

After a lengthy coronavirus-related gap since Issue 3, Jody Houser and Roberta Ingranata’s multi-Doctor story concludes in an amiable, if not explosive, climax.

The Doctors return to the Nestene underground lair as seen at the end of Rose, banter with its leader as mannequins start breaking out of shop windows, and then use a Weeping Angel to zap the blobby villain back in time. The Weeping Angels are then lassoed and sent off to a dark corner of space.

It’s not that clever, and it’s over very quickly, but the repartee between the Doctors is fun, Graham still has some witty interjections and the artwork is (as always) spot on. The story concludes with a tasty cliffhanger setting up the next run of comics, but there’s still a nagging sense that this multi-Doctor and multi-monster arc wasn’t quite what it could have been.

Verdict: A fun, if predictable, conclusion to a story that never really took off as hoped. 7/10
